ALPFA Institute Grants Impact Diversity & Inclusion in Northwest Arkansas
FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. – April 5, 2012 – The ALPFA Institute is continuing to expand its impact on diversity and inclusion initiatives throughout Northwest Arkansas thanks in part to two recent grants secured by the organization.
Through an operating agreement with the University of Arkansas Sam M. Walton College of Business, the ALPFA Institute was launched on Sept. 16, 2011, by ALPFA, the nation’s largest Latino business organization for professionals and students. The Institute, headquartered at Walton College, is positioned as a global leader in the advancement and engagement of Latino leaders. It offers strategic counsel and cutting-edge programs for individuals and corporations interested in growing their knowledge and capabilities within the Latino community.
“In just six months the Institute has introduced and implemented many initiatives,” said Dr. Adam Arroyos, president of the ALPFA Institute. “We have launched three centers and are encouraged by the positive attention our programs are receiving from participants and supporters. The contributions from the Walton Family Foundation and the Winthrop Rockefeller Foundation will certainly expand our reach.”
The ALPFA Institute offers three centers:
- The Center for Global Leadership focuses on equipping individuals with the skills and mindset required to effectively lead global operations.

First Certificate of Leadership in Diversity & Inclusion Launches Successfully
Last week, the ALPFA Institute launched the first edition of the Certificate of Leadership in Diversity & Inclusion. 31 different companies from all over northwest Arkansas sent their top executives to begin building a new vision for the future of Diversity and Inclusion.
